Wisdom Respects Truth
John
Kerry recently told the truth: he and
John Edwards have better hair than Bush and Cheney. It was a welcome relief to
the constant barrage of half-truths and demagoguery streaming from the
liberals. I cannot understand how, with good conscience, any of them can accuse
someone else of lying, as their platform is founded on the lie of humanism. But
since the conscience of a liberal is not based in Christian moral law, but
rather trained by what is expedient in their view of things, maybe they are
honestly wrong in what they are doing.
They
have constantly accused Dubya of lying about Iraq, when all the evidence
indicates that Bush was convinced, as was Bill Clinton, that Iraq was one of
the major participants in the campaign of terror directed against the Western
world. Misstatement of facts is not lying, if there was no intention to
deceive. Lying, from the moral perspective, involves the willful intent to give
false witness, and ignorance is an accepted excuse for giving wrong
information. Ignorance does not make one a liar. I have seen no evidence that
Bush willfully lied about Iraq. I see no evidence that George W. Bush is a
liar.
However, the willful practice of demagoguery by the
liberals involves lying. Demagoguery is the constant public statement of
untruths or half-truths designed to arouse people by appealing to their
base motives. Rabble-rouser is another name for a demagogue, and the world is
full of them. We are witness to the worldwide practice of attacking
Americans because we dared to use force in the pursuit of justice. The world is
full of people who are willing to stand aside in support of their belief in
nonviolence and let evil people enslave the world. They are a mob led by lying
rabble-rousers, and Michael Moore is one of their chief propagandists.
Jesus said that the existence of righteousness in this
world would produce conflict with the ungodly. The truth is that there is a
battle raging between good and evil, and everyone is on one side or the other
in this battle. There is no room to stand aside and be a spectator. Everyone is
actively engaged. The Bible teaches that all of us are servants, either to
Satan to do evil, or to Jesus Christ to do good.
Some people have difficulty knowing which side they are
on. Let me give you some hints. The murder of unborn children is on Satan's
side. The effort to destroy the Christian influence in our society is on
Satan's side. The support of same sex marriages is on Satan's side. The willful
intent to mislead people is on Satan's side. The idea of robbing some people to
give to others is on Satan's side. The idea of rewarding people for living
worthless lives is on Satan's side. And the list continues.
Do you want to be on the right side and support truth?
Then put your trust in Jesus Christ. He is righteousness and truth. There is no
fault in Him, nor in those who are washed clean by His blood, because His
righteousness and sacrifice have purchased the pardon for all who come to Him
in faith, and are part of His body.
There is fault with both Democrats and Republicans, so we
cannot put our trust in either. But we should be able to discern which side is
supporting godly principles at this time. It is more obvious today than at any
time in my life. When a political party adopts as its foundation the support of
every ungodly practice imaginable, and selects the most liberal Senator as
their candidate, good hair is not enough. We need good character in our
nation’s leaders, and support for godly principles. The choice seems obvious to
me, if we forget selfishness and consider the future direction of our nation.
We are choosing between opposing evil and accommodating evil.
Pray for our nation, that righteousness and justice may prevail, that God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We need to stand for truth and righteousness. That would be wise.
