PAUL GOES TO ROME

 

ACTS 21-28

 

 

I.      PAUL VISITED JERUSALEM - ACTS 21:1-25

                A.    The Brothers In Tyre Warned Paul That He Shouldn't Go To Jerusalem - Acts 21:4

                B.    Agabus The Prophet Warned Paul What Was Waiting For Him In Jerusalem - Acts 21:10-14

                        1.     The brothers from Caesarea tried to convince Paul not to go to Jerusalem.

2.        Paul responded that he was ready to even die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord.

C.    Paul Went To Visit James And The Elders In Jerusalem - Acts 21:18

1.     They confronted Paul because of what was being said about Paul’s         teachings to the Gentiles about the

Law of Moses - Acts 21:20-22

2.     They suggested to Paul that he purify himself, along with four (4) others        among them, in order to

show that Paul too obeyed the Law - Acts 21:23-24

3.     The elders repeated that their decision about the Gentile believers did not      involve obedience to the

Law but only abstinence from certain practices - Acts 21:25

 

 

II.    PAUL WAS ACCUSED AND ARRESTED - ACTS 21:26-40

        Some Jews From Asia Stirred Up The Whole City Against Paul By Accusing Him Of Having     Taken Gentiles

Into The Temple Area And Thereby Defiling The Holy Place And Of Having

        Taught Against The Jews And The Law - Acts 21:26-30

A.    They Seized Paul And Took Him Outside The Temple - Acts 21:30

B.    They Wanted To Kill Paul - Acts 21:31

C.    The Romans Arrested Paul - Acts 21:33

 

 

III.           PAUL DEFENDED HIMSELF BEFORE THE PEOPLE - ACTS 22:1-21

A.    He Had Adequate Qualifications - Acts 22:3

B.    He Had Persecuted The Christians At An Earlier Time - Acts 22:4-5

C.    Paul Told About His Conversion - Acts 22:6-16

D.    Paul Told About How He Had Been Sent To The Gentiles - Acts 22:17-21

C.    Paul’s Defense Before Felix - Acts 24:10-21

D.    Paul Preached The Gospel To Felix And His Wife, Drusilla - Acts 24:24-25

 

 

IX.   PAUL BEFORE THE ROMAN GOVERNOR, FESTUS - ACTS 25:1-12

A.    The King Wanted To Hear Paul - Acts 25:22

B.    Festus Said That He Had Found Nothing In Paul That Merited A Death Sentence - Acts 25:25

XI.   PAUL SENT TO ROME - ACTS 27:1-28:10

A.    Some Brothers (Christians) Went With Paul, Guarded By Soldiers, To Rome On A Boat - Acts 27:1-2

B.    Paul Warned Those Of The Ship That The Voyage Would Be Disastrous; That They Would Lose The Ship, Their Cargo, And Possibly Their Lives - Acts 27:10

C.    The Storm At Sea - Acts 27:14-44

1.     The ship sank - Acts 27:41

2.     Everyone safely reached land - Acts 27:44

D.    On The Isle Of Malta - Acts 28:1-10

1.     Paul not bitten (or at least not harmed) by a snake that fastened to his     hand - Acts 28:3-6

2.     Paul healed some sick there and left again for Rome - Acts 28:8-10

E.     Paul Arrived In Rome - Acts 28:11-14

1.     He was warmly received by the Christians there - Acts 28:15

2.     Paul lived apart with one soldier guarding him - Acts 28:16

3.     Paul called together the principal leaders of the Jews in order to defend   himself - Acts 28:17-22

4.     Paul preached the Good News to them - Acts 28:23-28

a.     Some believed; others did not - Acts 28:24

b.     Paul told them that due to their rejection of the gospel, he would announce it to the Gentiles - Acts 28:30-31

5.     For two (2) years Paul preached the gospel from the house he had rented - Acts 28:30-31

 

 

CONCLUSION -   The Whole Voyage To Rome Under Guard And His Appearances Before Kings And Governors Show

The Hand Of God Working To Have His Wisdom And Will Known By All, Even By The Powers And

Authorities Of Heaven - Ephesians 3:10
