THE  REVEALING  OF  JESUS  CHRIST

II.  MAIN THEME - For those under intense trial and persecution, there was great need to see what was happening,

    what the outcome would be, Who was in control, and Who was at work. 

        1. Textual discussion of Revelation 4 and 5 with related scriptures from Revelation

                1.)  Revealing the glory of God - chapter 4

                        a.  John saw these things while in the spirit, receiving special revelation-4:2; 1:1, 10-11

                        b.  John saw God’s throne (representing dominion, authority, power) - Rev 4:2-5; 7:15-17; 14:3-5

                        c.  John saw the glory of God (like precious stones in appearance) - Rev 4:3-11; chapter 15.

III.  PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

        1. We can have the assurance of victory when we hold on to Christ

                        a.  Because He is the victorious Lamb of God pictured in Revelation - Rev 19:11-21; 3:21

                        b.  He has promised that the faithful will share His reign and eternal glory - 2 Tim 2:10-12; Rev 2:10, 26-28; 3:21;

                             Matt 25:21-23;

        2. Seeing all heaven bow before Jesus Christ makes us want to bow at His feet and sing praises to Him -Rev 5:9-14;

            John 4:23-24; Luke 19:37-40

        3. When we see God’s power and glory described, we should remember that the redeemed will share His eternal glory and

            power - 2 Tim 2:10-12; Rev 5:10; 22:5; John 1:12-14; 17:22-26; Rom 8:18-21; 1 Cor 15:49; Eph 1:18-21; 1Thes 2:12;
