History Of The Grace Home
On December 26th 2004 a TSUNAMI attacked the southern part of Indian cost in the morning, in which so many lost their lives, houses, families and their properties. After this immediately I attended for the rehabilitation work in southern costal part of Andhra Pradesh. I personally involved in the work. It touched my heart. I worked there with a team of 50 students. After returning to my home, I informed the same to my US friends and brethren. They enjoyed my involvement in the rehabilitation work. After that on 10th January 2005 I received a mail from my good friends and beloved brethren Randolph Gonce & Roger Wiemers, USA, regarding the possibility of starting an Orphan Home preferably with the children of Tsunami effected area children. Immediately I expressed my willingness and my family members felt happy to serve the poor and the needy. By their grace and love, we started GRACE HOME in a rented building with 50 orphans. Different breathers and sisters from Nashville area of USA started helping through Woodmont Hills Church of Christ, Nashville, TN, USA
After few days, they advised me to start the construction of a building for the children at Old Dupadda Village, where I already owned suitable property. So I started the construction of the building in the month of May 2005. The ground and First floors were finished in December 2005. Immediately some more donors came forward to finish the second floor also. And immediately we started the work and finished by June 2006. By that time the strength of the children increased to 100. From that time they are all enjoying the home as their Home.
At that time the children used to go to Government school for their education. There the standards are very poor and the children are getting very low standards. By our request the Founding Family Charitable Foundation, Nashville TN, USA came forward to help for construction of a school building. We started the work immediately and finished the Ground floor and first floor by August 2007. Now the orphan children are getting their education in this building. Our teachers are teaching them. Now they are improving their standards. This is also a good achievement.
In January 2007 some Brothers and Sisters came from Perth, Australia under the leadership of Bro Josh Nipps and constructed a play ground for the children to play in their leaser time. Really it is great; they did this with their own hands and hard work. We never forget their dedication, love and affection towards the children in the Grace Home and to me. And also they provided funds to buy a standby generator for Home, which we are enjoying.
