        1. Author - Habakkuk the prophet:  1:1;  3:1

        2. Date - Approximately 608 - 597 B.C.

        3. Setting - Habakkuk foresaw the punishment of God on Israel for her sins but questioned God's method

 

II. PURPOSE OF THE BOOK

        2. Theme:  God's ways are not always clear to man, but His ways are always right. All unrighteousness will be punished. 

            All righteousness will be rewarded.
